An Experimental Study of Indoor Air Quality Enhancement Using Breathing Walls

چکیده
Recently, many studies have focused on studying indoor air quality, especially with the outbreak of COVID-19, which is one reasons for increased need to improve quality. Many ideas and applications are available incorporate nature into buildings quality (IAQ) thus secure a higher percentage natural ventilation pollution reduction. One these use "breathing walls" (BWs), envelope components based porous materials. They decrease energy consumed heating, ventilation, air-conditioning buildings. The study discusses effect using BW approach thermal comfort in Moreover, improvement IAQ when two models - BWs (applying industrial materials together BWs, composed wooden concrete hollow bricks (WCHBs)), other model built solid traditional (STB) was studied through an experiment compare temperature, carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration, relative humidity behavior. experiments were conducted five months summer 2019, results both compared. From results, it may be concluded that exhibits improved behavior than by recording average three degrees lower outside temperature. WCHB STB ~41.66% same conditions; however, CO2 concentration (ppm) ~28.5% conditions.

Using webcam for indoor air quality monitoring
Nowadays application of webcam becomes more and more popular. Thus webcams are being developed to have better resolution but lower cost. This has motivated us to evaluate the suitability of using webcam for indoor air quality monitoring. This monitoring involved determining the concentration of particulate matter with diameter less than 10 micron (PM10). An algorithm was developed to convert mu...
متن کاملIndoor Air Quality
The issues of indoor air quality are complex and can be directly influenced by a number of system and building parameters. There are no universal solutions for every problem since there are numerous potential contaminant sources. They may originate from indoors and have a direct impact on indoor environmental quality, or they may originate from outdoors and be transferred by a mechanical or nat...
متن کاملIndoor air quality.
Complaints in modern buildings have been attributed to inadequate ventilation for the last 20 years. Few data exist to support this claim. In fact, few studies have actually looked at ventilation and complaints at the same time. These missing studies indicate a failure of three groups of professionals, physicians and health scientists, architects and engineers, and scientists knowledgeable in e...
متن کاملIndoor Air Quality Measurement
A qualitative assessment of indoors air quality is presented, by the use of an electronic nose consisting of a gas sensor array, a data acquisition system and a pattern recognition system. The gas sensors are sensitive to gases polluting the indoors air but they are sensitive to indoors temperature and humidity as well. The data acquisition system overtakes the sensors specific response and out...
متن کاملAn Assessment of Indoor Air Quality and Thermal Comfort in Educational Spaces (Case Study: Girls' High Schools in Arak, Iran)
As students spend one-third of their time at school, their health, comfort, and productivity are mostly influenced by thermal condition and indoor air quality of classrooms. Regarding that manual window-opening is a common way for providing fresh air in classes and students aren't allowed to change their uniform, position or control the windows during the lesson hours, providing thermal comf...
